Loch Lomond is the single biggest expanse of inland water in the British Isles. The broad island-dotted shallows in the south gradually narrow into deeper water surrounded by steep sided mountains dominated by Ben Lomond. The loch is ideal for sailing and water-sports and there are some beautiful walks.

Talk a gentle stroll through Queen Elizabeth Forest Park or Balloch Castle Country Park and visit charming lochside villages and sandy bays. There really is something for everyone. If hill walking, cycling, boating, golf, wildlife watching, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing or mountain biking are your thing then this is THE place to go!

Nearby to the north is The Trossachs National Park, with heather-clad peaks known as ‘The Highlands in Minature’. This place includes the Crainlairch and Ben Lawers mountain ranges, which are amongst the highest in Scotland. A true haven for keen walkers and hikers. For more relaxing activities visit one of the many historic buildings in the area or take a guided bush craft tour, try bird watching, or do a spot of retail therapy. The Trossachs is a wonderful area to visit and no trip to Scotland would be complete without spending some time in the area.
