The Stables is a beautiful first floor apartment set in the grounds of Buchanan Castle Estate in the heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. The quadrangle was once the stable block of the Estate and dates back to the 1800's. It has now been lovingly renovated into individual properties. The apartment is beautifully presented with great attention to detail. This fabulous interior and a wonderful location make an ideal base to enjoy a holiday. The galley style kitchen is contemporary and well equipped. The lounge is cosy with large soft sofas. The bathroom has a separate bath and large shower cubicle and both bedrooms are immaculately presented and luxuriously coordinated. All rooms face south making them light and airy. There is a ground floor lockable store which can be used for your bikes or golf clubs. This historic estate and the surrounding area offer an enormous range of leisure and cultural opportunities. Next to the Stables is the 18 hole Buchanan Castle Golf Course, whilst opposite the entrance to the estate is the 9 hole Strathendrick Golf Course. There are quiet roads and trails to explore around the Castle, with good access for walking and cycling. The surrounding woodland with mature trees makes and ideal habitat for deer, red squirrels and pine martens, so bring your binoculars.

The local village of Drymen is only 2 miles away and has a selection of hotels, pubs, restaurants, shops and leisure facilities. Loch Lomond is only a 5 mile drive away at Balmaha. A variety of boat trips can be taken on the loch or you can hire a boat/kayak to explore for yourself of for fishing. The National Park offers plenty of hill walking, from a brisk ramble to more serious Munro "bagging". Glengoyne Distillery is open to the public for tours and a sample of the "uisge beatha" or "the water of life"! From nearby Milngavie you can take the train into Glasgow for some retail therapy, or travel by bus or car to Stirling to visit some historical places of interest. In surrounding villages you will find a variety of outdoor activities from highwire adventure to pony trekking. This unique setting on the Buchanan Castle Estate is rather special and with additional benefit of a central location makes it a great base from which to explore further afield.
