Description

Trossachs Gate is a spacious renovated Victorian villa located in the very heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park village of Aberfoyle. This well presented self catering villa is conveniently situated with restaurants and shops on your doorstep. The accommodation is roomy and bright providing a great holiday base for a large family to explore the National Park and Stirlingshire. There is a large well equipped family kitchen with dining area. The comfortable lounge has ample seating for everyone to relax, a feature fire place and flat screen TV. The three bedrooms are well proportioned allowing space for everyone. The private ground floor front door access leads into a large hallway providing space to store bicycles/fishing tackle/golf clubs. Aberfoyle has a great selection of eateries and pubs, a wonderful butcher and deli, some interesting craft and gift shops and access to beautiful countryside.

About the local area

This is a fantastic location for outdoor enthusiasts, as you have the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest right on your door step. There are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, both walking and cycling. Stunning Loch Ard is only 4 miles away, where boat/canoe hire facilities are available, so you can explore the small islands, the crannog or perhaps go fishing. The Trossachs has spectacular mountains to climb such as Ben Lomond, Ben A’an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi. Surrounding you there is an abundance of wildlife to spot; ospreys, red squirrels, deer, wild goats and pine martens to name a few. There are numerous outdoor activities for every age and interests:  clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, guided walks, 4x4 safari’s, mountain biking and sailing are all available. For the adventurous Aberfoyle has a high wire forest adventure, with zip wire access. There is also a local 18 hole golf course. This is an area steeped in history and there are many places of interest to visit. The Loch Katrine Steamship "Sir Walter Scott" is a great cruise, reached by a thrilling drive over the twisting undulating "Duke’s Pass", or experience the 3 Lochs Forest Drive. Blair Drummond Safari Park is only a half hour drive away and a visit to Stirling can provide lots of historical places of interest to explore or a spot of retail therapy. From this central location you can easily travel and explore the National Park, Stirlingshire and Perthshire.
