The Coach House is wonderful semi-detached holiday cottage located near the seafront in Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula. Nestling in the gardens of a grand sandstone building, this self catering accommodation is a hidden gem, discreetly set behind impressive entrance gates. There is a secluded enclosed back garden with a small grassy lawn and patio area including pond with goldfish. Internally all the rooms are beautifully finished and co-ordinated. The lounge has a comfortable L-shaped sofa and the dining table is glass with black leather chairs. The galley style kitchen is to a high design spec with crisp modern white and steel units. The spacious front hallway ensures there is ample room to store your golf clubs! There are two bedrooms upstairs – a good sized double and a very spacious master bedroom which has a king sized bed and en suite facilities. Both rooms have coombed ceilings with velux windows which have electrically operated blackout blinds. From the shared front garden you can access the promenade and enjoy walks along the seafront.

You are within easy walking distance of all amenities with a variety of bars and restaurants to choose from. There is a good selection of local shops and a couple of larger food retails. Campbeltown has a swimming pool with leisure facilities and charming small cinema all within easily reached from The Coach House. The area is steeped in history, at Southend St Columba first landed in Scotland (AD563) and the old Campbeltown Cross dates back to 1380. From the harbour, Davaar Island can be seen and you can walk out to it at low tide (if you're brave enough!) along the mile long causeway. Campbeltown is more recently known for its wonderful golf courses, Springbank Malt Whisky, annual Music Festival (August) and award winning Pipe Band. You are only a few miles from Machrihanish, the 18-hole golf course here is one of the “Great Scottish Links Collection” and its first hole requires the opening shot to carry over the Atlantic! There is also a second Links course, only recently completed, and there are a number of smaller golf courses around the peninsula making this area a golfer’s paradise! For walking enthusiast the Kintyre Way provides a great long distance walk (87 miles) from Tarbert in the north to Dunaverty Bay in the south. The close proximity to the sea gives lots of opportunities for coastal walks, boat trips, otter spotting, sea angling, surfing, ideal conditions for kite flying and locally caught seafood. The Mull of Kintyre peninsular itself feels more like an island than mainland, as it is bound by the sea on 3 sides, its rugged coastline provides wonderful westerly views to the islands of Islay, Jura and Gigha. Alternatively you can explore the quieter east side of the peninsula passing through rural villages like Carradale and Saddell with views out to Arran.
