Tigh Fuaran (meaning "House of the Well") has wonderful, thick original walls which give character and are testament to the cottage's history. It has been tastefully decorated throughout giving a fresh, modern, light and airy feeling to this charming property. The rooms are spacious and the cottage well equipped. The property's sublime semi rural location provides that get away from it all feeling most holiday makers crave yet is central enough for guests to explore all that Argyll has to offer without too much effort. Tigh Fuaran looks out onto the mountains and the twin peaks of Beinn Cruachan, famous as the "Hollow Mountain" and home to a hydro system built deep into the mountain and a reservoir high above - an incredible piece of engineering and an unique visitor attraction for all the family. Argyll is an area rich in outdoor activities. It is also ideal cycling country, has some of the best walking and climbing terrain in Scotland together with a spectacular landscape and coastline and abundant wildlife. History lovers will adore the many historic sites in the area. Taynuilt village is within easy walking distance and has a lovely selection of local shops including a butcher and antique shop. The hotel has a bar/restaurant and the village boasts its very own 9 hole golf course! A short stroll from the village leads down to the shoreline where visitors can take a gentle cruise up Loch Etive or enjoy a spot of fishing. The vibrant and much loved town of Oban is only 12 miles and offers leisure facilities with swimming pool, good shopping, a whisky distillery, McCaig's Tower and much more. There are some great restaurants nearby and the area is well known for its seafood and local produce. Oban is the "Gateway to the Isles" with ferries leaving for Mull & Iona, Coll, Tiree, Colansay, Lismore and Kerrera on a regular basis. Argyll has so much to offer to all ages and interests. To the North can be found the Scottish Sea Life Centre at Benderloch and to the south is Kilmartin Glen, an area rich in history, myth and legend and which has over 350 ancient monuments to find and explore. The marvellous countryside, stunning scenery nadand sea views provide great opportunities to spot wildlife whether it is red deer grazing on the hillside, eagles soaring high above or seals bobbing about in the surf.

A cosy, extremely well appointed cottage that is forensically clean. We loved our stay.

Excellent cottage in a great location, ideal for visiting Oban and for trips to Mull etc.
