Scottish Cottages Policy

Scottish Cottages operate a policy of letting cottages that can achieve a minimum 3 star Visit Scotland (VS) grading. Our pricing remains very competitive in an effort to provide value for money quality accommodation.

Visit Scotland developed common standards for the quality assessment of self catering accommodation and many of our cottages are inspected annually by Visit Scotland quite independently of our own inspections.

There are minimum entry requirements in order to be recognised by VS and to obtain higher ratings an establishment will provide an enhanced quality across all area of:

Exterior
Cleanliness
Management efficiency
Public areas eg lounge dining rooms
Bedrooms
Bathrooms & WC’s
Kitchen & additional facilities
