Description

Located in open countryside above the charming village of Spean Bridge, Springburn is a beautifully presented cottage for up to 5 people. The main lounge opens out through French windows to a private patio area. The views across open countryside to the mountains beyond are spectacular. There is a second lounge with sofa bed. There are two large double bedrooms on the first floor, both well presented with colour coordinated soft furnishings and enjoying the same superb views. With two bathrooms (one on each floor), this is an ideal cottage for two couples or for a family holiday in a superb location. Springburn is just 4 miles from the world famous Nevis Range Ski and mountain bike track at Aanoch Mor, which has the only mountain gondola ride in Britain.

About the local area

The attractive small town of Spean Bridge, just 1 mile away, has a good range of local amenities, including a two AA rosette restaurant, which has an excellent reputation, as well as pubs, shop and post office. The world famous Commando Monument is also just a few metres from the cottage. Fort William, the outdoor capital of the Highlands, is just 15 minutes drive away. Rightly known as the ’outdoor capital of the UK’ it offers a wealth of activities, outdoor pursuits and places of interest for visitors. Many of the highlands most famous beauty spots are close by. Glen Nevis, Loch Ness, Glencoe and the unspoilt Ardnamurchan Peninsular are all with easy driving distance. Excursions from Fort William include the popular day trip to Mallaig on the Jacobite steam train, made famous through the Harry Potter films. Several cruises from the pier offer the chance to spot the marine life of Loch Linnhe including seals and otters. There is also an 18 hole golf course, large leisure centre and numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. Horse riding, loch, sea and river fishing, sailing, canoeing, climbing and hill walking are all enjoyed locally
