Description

Achagour Cottage is an exceptionally spacious detached cottage situated in its own large garden grounds surrounded by open countryside and rolling hills. Originally a traditional croft cottage, it has recently been extensively enlarged and now provides the height of modern living in a totally unspoilt, tranquil country setting. The cottage lies at the end of a small lane adjoining the owner’s farm and trout fishery. The spacious lounge/dining room looks out through triple aspect windows across open countryside to the hills beyond, with fishing lochs in the foreground. The lovely open fireplace and deep leather sofa suite proffer a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There is a large modern kitchen, three good sized bedrooms (one en suite), all beautifully presented, together with a family sized bathroom. The cottage adjoins Achagour Trout Fishery, a series of small lochs stocked with brown, rainbow and blue trout. Visitors are welcome to fish in season and offered preferential rates by the owners. There are lovely country walks and cycle rides direct from the property.

This coast is also renowned for its sea life, particularly the bottle nosed dolphins and colonies of seals that are regularly spotted close to shore. It boasts two championship golf courses, an interesting museum as well as a  good selection of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.
