Description

Situated in the quiet rural village of Marybank, surrounded by stunning Highland scenery, Crombie Cottage is an immaculately presented single storey cottage. Set back from the road and enjoying incredible views across open countryside to the Wyvis mountain range beyond, it offers a high standard of contemporary living in an accessible location. The main living area is open plan and runs the width of the cottage. The lounge area has a stylish leather sofa suite and French windows that open onto a large, modern, decking area with outdoor dining furniture. With views of the impressive Ben Wyvis mountain range and rare Red Kites wheeling overhead, this is a wonderful place to enjoy alfresco dining or a wee dram. The kitchen/dining area is bright, modern and well equipped with built in units and a solid wood dining table for four. There are two tastefully decorated and beautifully presented double bedrooms (one en suite) and a large modern bathroom with separate bath and shower. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Highland region.

About the local area

There is plenty to see and do in the immediate area. Golf, mountain biking, horse riding, sailing, canoeing, hill walking and mountain climbing are all local pastimes. A visit to the nearby whisky distillery at Muir or Ord is always popular and for wildlife enthusiasts, a trip to see the resident famous bottle nosed dolphins of the Moray Firth is a must. Chanonry Point is a well known local vantage point from which to spot these local ’residents’ that frequent these waters. Boat trips to view the dolphins, seals and vast array of seabirds closer to hand are also available nearby. the pretty coastal towns and fishing villages in this area are truly charming. The historic town of Cromarty is particularly attractive with its winding streets, fascinating court house museum and lovely walks along the water’s edge. It also boasts an excellent selection of restaurants, pubs, cafes and unusual small shops. Crombie Cottage is also just 20 minutes’ drive from Inverness, the capital of the HIghlands. Situated on the bank of the Ness this attractive and vibrant city has an excellent selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as a superb multi million pound theatre complex, multi screen cinema, ice rink and an amazing wild water aqua dome. Exploring the region from Marybank village visitors are spoilt for choice. Head west along the shores of Loch Ness to Fort William, Mallaig and the road to the Isles. To the north is the wild and dramatic scenery of Sutherland and Caithness, and to the south, Aviemore and the Cairngorm National Park
