Ardview is a traditional two storey holiday cottage overlooking Loch Alsh just 5 minutes from the Skye bridge. The cottage has recently been refurbished and renovated in a caring and sympathetic manner throughout. It now offers bright modern facilities whilst retaining a charming seaside cottage ambience. The main living area is open plan. The pretty lounge area focuses on the wood burning stove and original cottage windows look out across the bay to the surrounding hills. The kitchen/dining area is separated by a dividing bar. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped. There are three good sized bedrooms and with bathrooms on both floors it is an ideal cottage for two couples, extended families or group holidays. About the local area

Situated in the hamlet of Reraig, set back from the road that leads to the Isle of Skye, it is easily accessible and just a short stroll to the local bar and restaurant. There are lovely walks direct from the property, down to the water’s edge and miles of open countryside and hills to explore. It is also just a few minutes drive to the Isle of Skye and to some of the most dramatic scenery in the whole of the Western Highlands. The immediately surrounding area is a hill walkers’ and climbers’ paradise, with numerous Munros and spectacular walks in all directions. The picture post card village of Plockton is also close by, made famous as the venue for the television series Hamish Macbeth. With its picturesque flower filled gardens, little winding streets and pretty cottages lining the foreshore it is easy to see why it has become a haunt for artists in recent years. The surrounding area offers a wealth of activities, places of interest and historic sites. The fairy tale castle of Eilean Donan, enchantingly situated on a promontory in the loch and accessed by a small causeway, is a short drive away. A spectacular route takes you past this famous castle and the rugged  mountain range known as the Five Sisters of Kintail and beautiful Glen Shiel, before reaching the shores of Loch Ness. The charming sea port of Kyle of Lochalsh, gateway to the Isle of Skye, is the nearest village. Here there is a good selection of small and interesting shops as well as restaurants, bars and cafes. A glass bottomed boat runs from here to view the sea life close to hand. The Gavin Maxwell Otter Centre at Kyleakin is well worth a visit and the Talisker distillery and several ancient historical sites are all within easy reach. With its close proximity to the Isle of Skye and the mountains, hills, lochs and coastline of the Western Highlands, this lovely cottage makes an ideal base for exploring this spectacular region of Scotland.
