Occupying a wing of a beautiful and historic former Manse house, Dalzie provides immaculately presented and very spacious accommodation for two in a tranquil yet accessible location. Dalzie has been superbly refurbished and updated to provide an exceptionally high standard of accommodation, whilst retaining its lovely original features. The large open-plan lounge / dining / kitchen is simply stunning and enjoys magnificent views across open countryside to the Cuillin Mountains beyond.  A very spacious double bedroom and exceptionally large and luxurious bathroom complete the picture.  The gardens are a real feature of the property with wide sweeping lawns, mature trees, shrubs and natural grassland with a myriad of Spring flowering bulbs.  There is also a charming walled garden. The grounds lead down to the pretty river Varragill below (fishing permits for salmon and trout are available locally).

About the local area

The immediate area is a haven for bird-life and sea-eagles, golden eagles, buzzards and a variety of other birds are regularly spotted close by.  Whilst set in beautiful open countryside, Dalzie is just 2 miles from Portree, the attractive and picturesque “capital” of Skye.  Here brightly painted cottages cluster round the active harbour where some of the finest fish restaurants can be found.  This bustling, atmospheric town boasts an excellent selection of interesting local shops, together with bars, restaurants and cafes.  There is also a swimming pool and leisure centre.  Boat trips also run from Portree harbour to encounter the local sea-life close to hand, including the rare sea-eagles, which nest in the area.  The Isle of Skye is renowned for its mountains, coasts, historical sites and stunning scenery.  Surrounded by miles of breathtaking coastline, awe-inspiring mountain ranges, amazing, unique rock formations and magical castles and historical sites, the visitor is spoilt for choice.    The surrounding area is a paradise for those who enjoy walking, climbing, fishing, sailing, kayaking, mountain biking, bird-watching, golf, or just totally relaxing and enjoying island living at its best.   Just a few miles further north is the Trotternish Peninsula.  Here the amazing Quiraing mountain range with its dramatic rock formations dominates the skyline. Formed from a combination of volcanic rock and limestone it is well worth a visit.  The pretty fishing port of Uig just a short drive away has a number of excellent pubs and restaurants, a local bakery, pottery and is also the home of the Isle of Skye brewery.  From Uig one can take a day ferry trip to the Outer Isles.
Dalzie offers spacious and luxurious accommodation for couples wishing to explore the mystical Isle of Skye.
