Rosehearty is a charming old seaside village, with fisherman's cottages straddling the shoreline, an active harbour and a good selection of facilities, including pubs, restaurants, shop and post office. There is a 9 hole golf course close by and superb walks direct from the cottage. It is situated just 4 miles from Fraserburgh, a vibrant seaside town with fine esplanade that looks to the sea for its recreation and livelihood - it is the largest shellfish port in Europe. Surfing, body boarding, diving and sea kiting are all local pastimes. There is an excellent selection of shops, restaurants and bars, together with unusual and fascinating museums, including the Scottish Lighthouse Museum. Open air and indoor swimming pools are an added attraction. There is plenty to see and do all along this lovely coast. The nearby RSPB nature reserve at Troup Head is home to the only land based gannet colony on the British Isles. And puffins, together with a wide variety of other seabirds can be spotted close to hand. A 'Puffin Boat Trip' is particularly recommended. The area is renowned for its golf courses, with many championship courses within easy access. There are numerous castles and distilleries on the famous 'Whisky and Castle Trails'. The nearby town of Macduff has an excellent aquarium centre. Wonderful coastal walks abound and cycling, fishing, sailing, riding and surfing are all enjoyed locally. The historic town of Banff is within easy driving distance. This attractive, traditional stone town has number of excellent shops, gardens, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and a sports centre. Royal Deeside and the Cairngorm mountains are also both within easy reach. Shoreline House is also ideally located for exploring the two main Highland cities of Aberdeen and Inverness, being almost equidistant between them. With miles of unspoilt coastline, interspersed with pretty fishing villages, castles and distilleries it provides a superb base from which to explore this beautiful and fascinating area.
