Aviemore is a village for all seasons. Renowned for its skiing and snowboarding, the area also offers a vast array of all year round activities and outdoor pursuits. The Spey Valley Golf course is within walking distance and mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, sailing, hill walking, climbing and pony-trekking are all available locally. Visits to encounter Britain’s only herd of free-ranging reindeer at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre is just 10 minutes drive away. Husky trail rides through the foothills of the mountains also offer a memorable and unique day out. The region is also noted for its birdlife and the nearby RSPB nature reserve at Boat of Garten is famous for its Ospreys which nest locally. There is a steam railway that runs from Aviemore through to the village of Boat of Garten.
The Spey valley is also home to some of Scotland’s most famous malts and the “whisky trail” is always popular with visitors. With challenging Munros, and the superb watersport lochs of Insh and Morlich, the choice of outdoor sports is almost unlimited. For the less energetic there is a funicular railway that runs up the side the Cairngorm mountain range. Aviemore has an excellent selection of restaurants, bars, café’s and local shops and with Inverness is just 30 minutes drive away, it is an ideal location for exploring the heart of the Highlands.

The standard of the property was excellent. Everything was so new. A real home away from home. It was very close to the town centre.
Very well equipped for small children, including travel cot and bedding, high chair, toddler toilet seat (our little boy is 2 1/2), toddler friendly cutlery and crockery, and even a baby towel for our 9month old. One of the best properties that calls itself 'child friendly' that I have ever stayed at.
Fantastic little house. Very very clean and well appointed
