Ballindalloch Castle is one of the most beautiful historic buildings in Speyside. It has been continuously occupied by the MacPherson Grant family since the mid 16th century. Braemar Castle and Balmoral Castle are also within easy reach, all within 30 miles of Tomintoul, renowned as the heart of Malt Whisky country. From here you can easily tour the many distilleries to be found in Speyside. Tomintoul Distillery is just a few miles outside the village, whilst The Whisky Castle shop in Tomintoul offers over 500 malt whiskies.
