Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain is just 10 minutes drive away. There are endless opportunities for climbing, hill walking, mountain biking (The World mountain bike championships are held here annually), riding, skiing and snowboarding, all of which are available locally. There are a wide variety of places of interest to visit and much to see and do. Visitors can take a gondola ride up Aanoch Mor, part of the Nevis range and enjoy a meal at the restaurant and viewpoint at the top, or take a trip on the historic steam tain through to Mallaig on the Hogwart's Express of Harry Potter fame. Fort William, known as the 'Outdoor Capital of the HIghlands' offers an excellent selection of restaurants, pubs and local shops as well as a superb swimming pool and leisure centre. There are also a variety of water sports in the area, such as canoeing, sailing, kayaking and scuba diving. The enigmatic and mysterious mountains of Glencoe, the beautiful shores of Loch Ness and the pretty, unspoilt coastline of the Ardnamurchan Peninsular all contribute to the area's allure. This property is also available with the adjoining property, Rowan Bank Cottage (which can accommodate 6 people), for larger groups or for a two family holiday.
