The surrounding area is a paradise for those who enjoy walking, climbing, fishing, sailing, kayaking, mountain biking, bird-watching, golf, or just totally relaxing and enjoying island living at its best. Just a few miles further north is the Trotternish Peninsula. Here the amazing Quiraing mountain range with its dramatic rock formations dominates the skyline. Formed from a combination of volcanic rock and limestone it is well worth a visit. The pretty fishing port of Uig just a short drive away has a number of excellent pubs and restaurants, a local bakery, pottery and is also the home of the Isle of Skye brewery.
