The foreground is beset with half a dozen bobbing fishing boats moored in the bay, with islands beyond; simply magical. Seals and otters are regular visitors to the wee pier and rocky seashore and a pair or rear nesting Sea-eagles add to its wild beauty and unique allure. Take a trip around the coastline to see the sea-life closer to hand - dolphins, porpoises and Minke whales all frequent the Skye coastline. This whole region is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Sub aqua diving from the pier, canoeing, sailing and kayaking are all right on the doorstep (for those who wish to bring their own boat, there is a slipway for holiday maker's use). Skye is renowned for its walking and climbing and this area is no exception. Access to the Cuillin Mountains is just 10 minutes away, or for those who prefer less energetic exercise there is a lovely walk out to the lighthouse, with every chance of encountering a resident otter close to hand. There are numerous places of interest close by. Visit Talisker Distillery, Dunvegan Castle, the beautiful coral beach and the pretty harbour town of Portree.
