There are a number of excellent restaurants and pubs just a short stroll away and Inverness golf course is just 5 minutes’ drive from the property. The city has superb leisure facilities including a multi-million pound theatre complex, an ice rink, twelve screen cinema and a swimming ‘aqua-dome’.
There are a wide variety restaurants, cafes and bars, set against the backdrop of the imposing Inverness castle that looks down on the River Ness. Take a stroll along to the Ness islands or by the banks of the Caledonian Canal. Visit Inverness Cathedral, museum and castle or take a dolphin cruise to spot the famous bottle-nosed dolphins that inhabit the waters of the Moray Firth.
There are also many places of interest and historical sites within easy reach, including Cawdor Castle, with its stunning gardens and fascinating history, dating back to the days of ‘Macbeth’. Wander through the atmospheric battlefields of Culloden and visit the new audio/visual experience, or take a short drive to Fort George, set out on a promontory with spectacular views of the Moray Firth. There are also numerous sandy beaches and miles of unspoilt coastline to explore.
The surrounding area is renowned for its wealth of sporting activities. Fishing, horse-riding, sailing, climbing, hill walking and mountain biking are all enjoyed in the locality. There are a number of excellent golf courses close by open to visitors. Further afield, holidaymakers are simply spoilt for choice. Head west along the shores of Loch Ness to the charming village of Fort Augustus. To the north is the wild and dramatic scenery of Sutherland and Caithness and within 30 minutes to the south lies Aviemore and the Cairngorm mountain range.
