Thornhill is a spacious detached house set in its own generous garden grounds in a quiet lane above the charming village of Gairloch. This beautiful property is exceptionally well presented throughout. The kitchen is superbly equipped with built in appliances. The lounge enjoys wonderful views from its elevated position, over Gairloch bay with the Torridon Mountains beyond and over the Minch to the Outer Hebrides. Gairloch is a charming village set on the west coast, surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches, with the awe inspiring Torridon mountain range acting as a dramatic back drop. There is a good selection of shops in this small but vibrant village as well as excellent restaurants, bars and cafes within walking distance. Warmed by the Gulf Stream this beautiful region of the Western Highlands is a unique area, where palm trees and rare plants flourish; the nearby sub tropical gardens at Inverewe bear testament to this and are well worth a visit. the immediate area offers a wealth of activities. The Gairloch Heritage Museum, Leisure Centre and library are approximately one mile away. The Leisure Centre has a broad selection of outdoor pursuits such as rock climbing, abseiling and kayaking. There is a 9 hole golf course adjoining a beautiful sandy beach within 5 minutes drive. For riding enthusiasts the local pony trekking centre is a must, situated in the beautiful Gairloch estate at Flowerdale. Cycling (bikes available for hire locally), canoeing and sailing, as well as walking and climbing in the spectacular Ben Eighe National Park in the heart of the Torridon mountain range are all enjoyed by visitors and local's alike. The area is a wild life enthusiasts paradise. Sea eagles are common to the region and can sometimes be spotted from the house. There are some excellent sea fishing and wild life spotting boat trips that run from the nearby pier in season. With unspoilt sandy beaches and superb scenery, this is an ideal holiday location for all ages.
