The coast and coastal waters here have some of the highest
concentrations of marine and bird life in Europe and it also has without doubt
some of the finest sandy beaches; unspoilt, clean and perfect for summer
holidays with the family, bracing shoreline walks in the autumn or just the
place to let the dog have a good run!
Wherever you look you'll find plenty of superb beaches. On
the east coast there are some lovely stretches of sandy beaches extending from
Dornoch in the Highlands, south to Nairn in Moray and further south all along
the eastern coastline, including Stonehaven in Abderdeenshire and Lunan Bay in
Angus. The Fife coast has some beautiful beaches, including a number of Blue
Flag beaches at St. Andrews, Elie and Leven.

and fast changing weather, crashing Atlantic rollers and dramatic seascapes,
ideal for a holiday that will blow away all the cobwebs and bring you back in
touch with nature!
All along the west coast the dramatic Highland coastline
reveals lots tiny coves and bays and pretty fishing harbours. The islands of
the Inner and Outer Hebrides, such as the Isle of Skye, are also renowned for
their beautiful coastlines and beaches.
To the south in Dumfries and Galloway the coastline extends
from the sandy beaches of the Solway Firth to the rugged cliffs in the south

All told, a beach holiday in Scotland has all the
ingredients for a fantastic self catering break away with family or friends,
where you can chill out and relax or get active with a range of sports and
