This detached wooden bungalow offers spacious and bright accommodation for a family of 4. The bungalow sits within the village of Kames on an open, elevated position, facing east out to the Kyles of Bute. The property has a lovely large decked area to the front, where you can enjoy eating out or to just relax and unwind. The bungalow is close to the essential amenities, only a minute's walk from the local village shops, post office and the local hotel, with pub and restaurant, is down by the shore - only a 5 minute walk away. Carnethy has a lovely open plan kitchen/dining area that seats 4. The lounge is a wonderful light room with large windows and an open aspect. There is a large grassy garden (1 acre), which can be enclosed, and is shared with the cottage next door. Kames is a beautiful location to get away from it all - to sit back and relax. However, you can also find lots of things to see and do. There is a local 9 - hole golf course, wonderful coastal walks, bird watching, fishing, cycling and stunning driving scenery. A short drive west and then a walk, will take you to Kilbride Bay - a beautiful large sandy and quiet beach, a great spot to spend a day with the children. The area is well known for its seafood and local produce, so what better excuse for trying out all the great local restaurants and hotels. The village of Tighnabruaich is only 1 mile away; it was voted the best village award in 2001. There is a RYA sailing school on the shores of the village and there are locally run painting courses. Over at Otter Ferry the Estate offers shooting. You could explore slightly further afield to the town of Dunoon (23 miles) which has a good centre for shopping, leisure facilities and the Benmore Botanic Gardens are a must see with its avenue of Giant Redwoods and wonderful plants. The Isle of Bute is only a short drive and ferry crossing away and you could visit the fabulous Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart House. Inverary is also a great day out (43 miles), attractions here include the Inverary 19th century Jail - fun for the whole family - or soak up the history in Inverary Castle - ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll.
