The village sits along the challenging route of the 'St Cuthbert's Way', an ideal location for those who enjoy walking and cycling. The picturesque market town of Kelso with its quaint cobbled streets is 7 miles away and offers a wide array of facilities including a cinema, indoor swimming, a pottery and ice rink. Golfers will enjoy the prestigious Roxburgh course and Springwood Park showground hosts many international horse riding events throughout the year. The salmon rich River Tweed will delight those who enjoy fishing and Floors Castle (which is softly illuminated at night) is home to the Duke of Roxburgh. The border town of Jedburgh, renowned for its woollen mill and where the Castle Jail and Museum and Mary Queen of Scots House are also interesting visitor attractions only 9 miles West.

The cottage had a very homely feel. I would recommend the cottage to my friends.
Wish we had known the TV was also a DVD player. There was an excellent welcome folder with information about the running of the cottage and it's history. Plenty of leaflets about local attractions. The downstairs shower/wet room was excellent and a much needed resource following an unfortunate accident out walking and I broke my ankle. Because I was confined to the cottage I found there was everything there that I needed. My one regret was I had not filled in the feed back form in the welcome folder as we left early due to having to get home and go to hospital to have my foot checked out. Sorry for not filling in the feed back form.
This is an excellent holiday cottage !!!! Very comfortable, clean and in a quiet, tranquil little village where the people were very friendly and is an ideal getaway to chill out and relax !!!
