There are two decked seating areas at the front and rear of the cottage, allowing guests to enjoy the wildlife in the enclosed garden. There is a light and airy open plan living/dining room with dual aspect French doors leading to the patio and separate balcony, the fully fitted kitchen also has a utility room. The family bathroom has shower over bath, and toilet, while the master bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and there is also another twin bedroom. Both of the spacious bedrooms have lovely garden views, and are tastefully furnished with black iron bedsteads and crisp, white linen.
Kilmore is a quiet village, south of Oban, close to the shores of Loch Feochan, a beautiful yet narrow sea loch favoured as a sheltered anchorage and perfect for birdwatching. Although the village itself has few amenities, the nearby Lerags Glen has a popular country pub, offering fine home cooked food and ales with informal music nights during the summer. Venturing further south, within a 20-minute drive and accessed over the ’Bridge over the Atlantic’, is the Isle of Seil and the historic slate mining village on Easdale Island, with boat trips, cafés, country museums and pubs.
Only 2 miles away is the bustling and beautiful resort town of Oban, ’Gateway to the Isles’ and departure point of ferries to the Inner and Outer Hebrides. The town is well served by numerous good restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops. It also boasts an excellent leisure centre. There is a lovely sandy beach at Ganavan, just 4 miles along the coastal road. Dunollie, Dunstaffnage and Kilchurn Castles are some of the nearby castles to visit as part of a day’s sightseeing. Further afield but within an hour’s drive, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Glencoe, take a trip to Fort William to see Ben Nevis, catch the ’Harry Potter’ train, or visit the jail and castle. Beach 4 miles. Shop, bar and restaurant 2 miles.
