Ideal for families and for guests who have dogs, Euterpe is in a great location to explore the surrounding area. It is perfectly located for Cowal Golf Club, which is only a 2-minute walk away, as well as the Cowal Highland Gathering, which takes place every year at the end of August. Within a 15-minute drive north you will reach the stunning scenery that surrounds Loch Eck where you can go for long walks or mountain bike rides. Beach ¼ mile. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

About the local area

As you travel through Argyll, highland Scotland merges with the Scottish lowlands. In the north of the region is the bustling fishing port of Oban. Surrounded by the sweeping mountains of Lorn this is the ideal base from which to tour the Highlands to the north.

The Isle of Mull is only a short ferry trip away. Mull's capital, Tobermory, is instantly recognised by its famous brightly painted buildings. The island has a fascinating history being once home to the Chief of the Clan MacLean and site of the clan's ancient Duart Castle which has spectacular views from its battlements.

South along the coast are the unspoilt glens and bays of Mid-Argyll and Kintyre and the islands of Islay and Jura which are easily reached by ferry. Visit the whitwashed houses of Inveraray and the turreted Inveraray Castle, home to the Dukes of Argyll. Campbelltown in Kintyre was the scene of Viking repulsions at Saddell Abbey and has some lovely beaches nearby.

The captivating Isle of Bute lies at the heart of the Firth of Clyde, a place of tranquil relaxation with sheltered coves and sandy bays. Ideal for leisurely hiking and easy-going cycling on quiet back roads. Maybe take in the grandeur of Rothesay Castle or Mount Stuart - the House and gardens of the Marquess of Bute.
