Scallopshell Lodge is nestled in a spectacular setting near the shores of Loch Fyne, Otter Ferry on the Ballimore Estate. Uniquely designed to enjoy the peaceful surrounds and tranquil waterside location. A welcoming and well-presented three-bedroom lodge, Scallopshell is a perfect hide-away to relax and unwind in a beautiful and magical setting. Newly refurbished, the interiors are of a modern and comfortable standard. The lodge comprises of a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen with comfortable sofa’s, large TV screen and an inviting wood burner. Wonderful views are featured from the comforts in your living area through the large windows. On chilly evenings cosy up and stretch out in front of the wood burner with a good book and a glass of your favourite drink. One of the many highlights of Scallopshell is the spacious rooms and views. The Master bedroom offers wonderful window views over the loch bay. With a twin bedroom, single bedroom and a shared family bathroom features a shower over the bath, and toilet. Views of the loch, changing tides and abundance of sea birds are just some of the highlights in this special place. The lodge is situated 20 yards from the beach front, with direct access it is idyllic for long walks. The sunsets you will experience are heavenly. Scallopshell Lodge is a special place that will have you return year after year. Ideal for a family holiday, a romantic honeymoon, a special occasion or simply to escape the world.
Within walking distance, the well-known local restaurant in Otter Ferry is located on the waterfront offering first class food and award-winning ales brewed locally in the nearby Fyne Ales Brewery at the top of Loch Fyne. A wonderful base to explore the boundless historical and scenic attractions that are on offer in this beautiful region, to the many leisure pursuits including walking, hiking, cycling, fishing and sailing, there is something for all. Explore further afield to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the Isle of Bute, and historic Inveraray, it’s also an easy day trip to Oban, one of the seafood capitals of Scotland. About the local area

As you travel through Argyll, highland Scotland merges with the Scottish lowlands. In the north of the region is the bustling fishing port of Oban. Surrounded by the sweeping mountains of Lorn this is the ideal base from which to tour the Highlands to the north.

The Isle of Mull is only a short ferry trip away. Mull's capital, Tobermory, is instantly recognised by its famous brightly painted buildings. The island has a fascinating history being once home to the Chief of the Clan MacLean and site of the clan's ancient Duart Castle which has spectacular views from its battlements.

South along the coast are the unspoilt glens and bays of Mid-Argyll and Kintyre and the islands of Islay and Jura which are easily reached by ferry. Visit the whitwashed houses of Inveraray and the turreted Inveraray Castle, home to the Dukes of Argyll. Campbelltown in Kintyre was the scene of Viking repulsions at Saddell Abbey and has some lovely beaches nearby.

The captivating Isle of Bute lies at the heart of the Firth of Clyde, a place of tranquil relaxation with sheltered coves and sandy bays. Ideal for leisurely hiking and easy-going cycling on quiet back roads. Maybe take in the grandeur of Rothesay Castle or Mount Stuart - the House and gardens of the Marquess of Bute.
