Nearby Oban is known as the Gateway to the Isles and the Seafood Capital of Scotland. From the bustling harbour there are regular ferries to the Inner Hebrides including Tiree, Mull, Iona and Staffa. Oban has many excellent restaurants and boasts a distillery, cinema, leisure centre and a variety of shops.
Surrounded by beautiful scenery and a rugged coastline there is an abundance of wildlife with dolphins, otters, porpoise and sea eagles often seen. Sea-Safari boat trips from Seil will take you to see Corryvreckan one of the largest permanent whirlpools in the world. Other days out for all the family include Inveraray Jail, Cruachan Hollow Mountain and Bonawe Ironworks. There are also many historic castles and monuments, beautiful gardens and museums to visit. The area is very popular for outdoor activities with kayaking, cycling, walking, horse riding and golf to name but a few. Further afield Fort William, Glencoe and the Kintyre Peninsula are all easily accessible. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.
