Cwtch (pronounced "kootch") Doon is located in the tranquil village of Kinlochard which is in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.  This semi detached apartment has been newly renovated, providing the ideal accommodation and location for that romantic getaway for two!  The open plan living space combines the lounge, kitchen and dining area.  There is a wall mounted LCD combined TV/DVD with satellite connection; a fantastic wall mounted designer electric fire, sofa and two easy chairs.  The kitchen area is very well equipped.  From the bedroom and lounge windows there is a glimpse of a view of Ben Lomond - a great Munro to climb.  Cwtch Doon is positioned only 20 yards from the loch side, where you can fish (permit required) and has easy access to launch a boat or canoe.  There is a quaint tearoom close by where guests are very welcome for a "Wee Blether".  Guests staying at Cwtch Doon have full access to the local Health Club, with free use of the pool/sauna/jacuzzi/steam room and discounts on beauty treatments and water sport activities with only a minimal fee for use of games hall.

About the local area

This is a fantastic location for outdoor enthusiasts, as the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest is right on the door step.  There are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, for walking and cycling.  There is an abundance of wildlife to spot in the surrounding area, birds of prey, red squirrels and pine martens to name only a few.  Loch Ard itself is stunning, with small islands and a crannog to explore.  There are resident Canada geese and many different species of birds and ducks can be found by the loch.  A gentle walk along the loch side brings access to the hotel complex with facilities and a bar with restaurant.  Clay pigeon shooting, farm tours, guided walks, 4x4 safari’s, quad biking and sailing are available (some seasonal).  In the surrounding area there are lots of other activities for every age and interests.  For the very brave there is a high wire forest adventure, with the longest zip wire in Britain at Aberfoyle.  Aberfoyle has an 18 hole golf course.  From this central location you can easily travel and explore.  It is an area steeped in history and there are lots of places of interest to visit.  The Glengoyne Distillery producing Highland Single Malt Whisky, is only 12 miles south of Dumgoyne.  The Loch Katrine Steamship "Sir Walter Scott" is a superb cruise.  Blair Drummond Safari Park, located just outside Stirling is only a half hour drive away and a visit to Stirling can provide lots of historical places of interest to explore or a spot of retail therapy!
