Menteith Cottage is located in the popular village of Aberfoyle, within the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.  This quaint self catering accommodation forms the two storey annex of a large Victorian country house. On the ground floor there is a comfortable lounge, bright kitchen with breakfasting area, a separate dining room and a large bathroom.  Upstairs there are two bedrooms – a cosy twin and a spacious double. Outside the cottage you will find a large patio area equipped with patio furniture and a barbeque, perfect for that al fresco dinner.

About the local area

Set amidst secluded mature private gardens bordering on The Queen Elizabeth forest, Menteith Cottage is a short five minute walk from the centre of the village and all local amenities. This is a fantastic location for outdoor enthusiasts, as you have the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest right on your door step. There are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, both walking and cycling. The Trossachs has spectacular mountains to climb like Ben Lomond, Ben A’an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi. Surrounding you there is an abundance of wildlife to spot, ospreys, red squirrels and pine martens to name a few. The area has many lochs to find and explore, for fishing or canoeing adventures. There are lots of activities for every age and interests, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, guided walks, 4x4 safari’s, historical farm tours and sailing are all available. For the adventurous, Aberfoyle has a high wire forest adventure, with the longest zip wire in Britain. Aberfoyle also has an 18-hole golf course.This is an area steeped in history with numerous places of interest to visit.Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Whisky Distillery and visitor centre, is only 8 miles south at Dumgoyne.The Loch Katrine Steamship “Sir Walter Scott” is a great cruise, reached by a thrilling drive over the twisting undulating “Duke’s Pass”, or experience the 3 Lochs Forest Drive. Blair Drummond Safari Park, located just outside Stirling, is only a half hour drive away and a visit to Stirling provides many historical places of interest to explore or a spot of retail therapy. From this central location you can easily travel and explore the National Park, Stirlingshire and Perthshire.
