It is a short walk from the River Tay and the Grandtully Rapids Canoe Slalom course, making this the ideal spot for water sports and outdoor enthusiasts. Activities available locally also include cliff jumping, clay shooting, quad biking, paint-balling, abseiling and mountain biking, and Scotland’s five ski centres are within half an hour’s drive. For guests who prefer a more relaxed holiday, a leisurely walk from the cottage through the local woodland to the centre of the village, where you can stop off for hot chocolate or a glass of wine.
Grandtully is an attractive village with a shop, café, two local inns serving quality food and a 18-hole golf course. From your front door, there are cycle friendly tracks and quiet roads to explore. A visit to the village of Fortingall is 13 miles away, where the churchyard has a 5000-year-old yew tree said to be the oldest living thing in Europe. There are lots of visitor attractions in the area including Menzie Castle, a superb 16th century Scottish castle, whisky distilleries, theatres and galleries. After a day spent in the outdoors this comfortable cottage, with its well kept gardens, is the perfect place to relax and unwind on your return, where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink and enjoy the views.
