Penny Lane is a cosy semi detached cottage situated within the charming Perthshire village of Scone, only 2 miles North East from the City of Perth. This property offers delightful self catering holiday accommodation, located within a peaceful cul de sac and is comfortably furnished throughout. The lounge is homely with a flat screen 32" TV and electric focal point fire leading to a sunny conservatory with views to the garden. The kitchen is bright, well equipped and also includes a dining area. There is a large wrap around gravel garden with heather rockery and outdoor seating available both at the front and back. Scone has fantastic local transport with a local bus service running into Perth every 10 minutes. You could easily stay here at Scone without a car - you can fly into the local airport and then take a short taxi journey or take the train to Perth where the owners of the property are happy to pick you up from the train station. Penny Lane is only a short walk across the village park from local shops, pubs and eateries.

About the local area

There is much to see and do within this central area of Scotland. The River Tay and nearby lochs make ideal opportunities for fishing or canoeing. This is a golfer’s paradise as the surrounding area has numerous golf courses from professional 18 hole courses at Gleneagles or St Andrews, to great local 9 hole courses. There are numerous forest tracks. marked walks, and cycle ways/trails to explore as well as Munro’s to climb. Perth Racecourse is only a shot drive away and makes for a great day out. Once the seat of Scottish Parliaments and crowning place of Kings, Scone is a place that breathes history, boasting its own Palace, which is home to the Earl of Mansfield. Poised over the River Tay, the Palace is an interesting visitor attraction overlooking the routes north to the Highlands and East through Strathmore to the Coast. The Grampian Mountains form a distant backdrop and across the river stands the fair City of Perth, with its acclaimed open spaces, riverside walks and many cultural attractions including a Victorian Theatre and a contemporary concert hall, only 2 miles away. There are many RSPB sites and National Trust properties close by. The village of Scone sits close to the A94 giving easy access to explore Perthshire, Angus and coastal Fife, making this a charming holiday property an idyllic base to discover this glorious area of Scotland.
