The local village of Bridge of Cally, approximately 2 miles away, has a village shop for newspapers, confectionery, post office and any groceries guests may need. Blairgowrie is 5 miles away and has a supermarket, a couple of shops and an excellent farm shop which stocks local fruit and vegetables. On the main street, there is a deli which offers a wide range of speciality foods, fine wines and freshly baked bread. You can also find here clothes shops, two shooting, fishing and country wear suppliers, a shoe shop, chemists, banks and pubs. For pampering, there are numerous hairdressers and beauty salons which offer a huge array of treatments. Public transport and taxis are available from Blairgowrie.
Perthshire and its surrounding areas are a mecca for the golfing enthusiast. Whether you wish to play the small friendly courses or challenge yourself on more famed courses such as Rosemount, Carnoustie, Gleneagles, St Andrews and Loch Lomond, you are really spoilt for choice. Walkers can find the Cateran Trail only a short walk away and there is lots of countryside all around to explore. There is terrain to suit all abilities, from rambles and hill walking to munro bagging. For fishing, there is the River Ericht, Isla, Almond and Tay very close by for salmon and trout fishing. Glenshee Ski Centre is ½ hour away and is the largest ski area in Scotland, boasting 22 lifts and 36 runs. During July and August, it opens it 3km mountain bike track which runs along the Cairnwell Ridge (accessed by chairlift). Other outdoor activities in the area include white water rafting, zorbing, kayaking, bungee jumping, sky diving, archery, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking and tank driving.
