Situated right on the edge of the sea, at the bottom of a small winding lane that leads down from the cliffs, Crovie oozes charm and tranquillity. It has the allure and ambience of a Cornish fishing village, but without the crowds! The little row of cottages straddle the seafront, with the original pier acting as a small harbour for fishing boats and local craft. Visitors are welcome to bring their own canoes and small boats to explore this superb coastline. Wonderful coastal walks abound - there is a lovely walk direct from the property along the shoreline to the pretty seaside village of Gardenstown. This nearby village also hosts a number of special events and activities during the summer months. The sandy beaches and rocky coves all along this coastal region make it an ideal location for all ages. Dolphins and seals are regular visitors and the area is renowned for its wealth of sea birds. Even the occasional whale has been spotted close to shore. There is plenty to see and do in the area. Golf, fishing, riding, sailing, canoeing, surfing, walking and cycling are all regular local pastimes. There are numerous castles and distilleries on the renowned ’Whisky and Castle Trails’. The nearby own of Macduff has an excellent aquarium centre, and some of the finest championship golf courses are within easy reach. The historic town of Banff is within easy driving distance. Fishing for mackerel off the pier, sitting on the harbour wall watching the amazing sunsets over the sea, enjoying a tasty meal at the local restaurants; all these will provide many happy holiday memories. Please note: the sea wall and drop down to the beach is immediately opposite the cottage, off the narrow access path. Toddlers and small children beware!
