Visit the Moray coast and take in the beauty of the coastline, and you may catch a glimpse of the bottle-nose dolphins. Take a day trip to the stunning west coast where you can visit the romantic Eilean Donan Castle and the magical Isle of Skye, or head north and sail to the historic Orkney Islands steeped in history. Whisky lovers can enjoy one of the many distilleries on the famous Strathspey Whisky Trail, sampling some of the finest whiskies in Scotland and the Cairngorm National Park has an abundance of wildlife and rugged mountains. Sea trips, fishing, golf, mountain biking, a variety of watersports, walking and climbing are just some of the wealth of activities which can be enjoyed in this area. The NC500 (North Coast 500km) is a stunning drive from Inverness, up the west coast, along the north coast and back down the east taking in all the delights along the way. Inverness city is known as the ’Gateway to the Highlands and Islands’, and you can enjoy its wealth of historic and cultural attractions, wide variety of shops, lovely riverside restaurants, pubs, cinema and theatre.
