Situated on the hillside overlooking the beautiful waters of Loch Dunvegan, The Sheiling is a quintessential pied a terre for two. Set in 7 acres, with its own private beach, this exquisitely presented pine clad lodge is perfect in every way. Approached via a small but accessible country lane it offers quiet seclusion in a lovely, natural setting. The main room runs the length of the cottage providing a stunning open plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen. The windows look out across the sea and the surrounding hills and mountains. The double bedroom is superbly presented with coordinated soft furnishings and has the same amazing views. A cosy wood burning stove in the sitting room and the fresh smell of pine from the wood clad walls complete the picture.

About the local area

The immediate area is a haven for wildlife and heaven for nature lovers. Golden eagles and rare sea eagles nest nearby. Seals, otters and even the odd Minke whale are seen in the bay. There are superb walks direct from the property, from easy hill walking, a trip to the stunning coral beach or a more serious climb up the Cuillin Ridge; there is something for all ages and abilities. Whilst The Sheiling is situated in a rural area, it is not isolated. The nearby small town of Dunvegan is famous for its castle, seat of the Clan MacLeod since the 13th century and now the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland. Visitors are welcome to explore the beautiful grounds, from where visitors can take a boat trip to see the seals in the Loch closer to hand. Dunvegan also provides a good selection of local shops, as well as a pub, restaurant and café. The renowned Three Chimneys Restaurant (rated one of the top 100 restaurants and possessing three AA Red Rosettes) is just one mile away from the property. The owner of The Sheiling runs short training courses on how to grow your own vegetables, with a bias towards beginners and those with limited space, such as container grown vegetables. Visitors at The Sheiling are welcome to combine their holiday with a bespoke training course to suit their particular requirements with further information available at
