Take a step back into the past at the Dalgarven Mill, one of Scotland's tallest surviving grain mills. Here you can see the great water wheel which can still be operated today and powers the four floored mill from the nearby river. There is also a museum housed in the mill which tells the history of Ayrshire and its rural economy of the last century, providing an excellent opportunity to better experience the local heritage.

Finally there is the textiles collection which dates back through two centuries and houses not only women and men's period clothing but also blankets produced locally. At the end of the visit there is always the coffee room to take a break and enjoy the fine home baking on offer.
