Who would have thought that sites such as Loch Tay would be hiding early iron-age loch dwellings (Crannogs) deep under the water?! Well, the Scottish Crannog Centre located at Loch Tay in Kenmore exists to teach people about the history of such dwellings and features a unique re-construction of one of them based on excavational evidence. According to the centre, there are 18 Crannogs preserved underwater in Loch Tay, and new discoveries are often made by the centre. So why not visit the centre and gain a unique insight into underwater archeology!
