The Skye Museum of Island Life is home to a set of well preserved nineteenth century township thatched cottages, which were once very much part of highland architecture, and the museum has aimed to preserve these cottages as closely as they can to depict what life would have been like during the periods in which they were inhabited. This museum provides an educational, historical, and fun day out for the whole family and is a great destination for anybody interested in the history of the Highlands.
