The 7 Stanes are a series of mountain bike centres across Southern Scotland each of which is home to a large stone (or `stane' as is the Scottish word for it) sculpture depicting a local myth or legend. In Newcastleton the sculpture depicts a planes wing pointing north and south representing the Scottish Border with England.

The Stane in Newcastleton is in a very prominent position and can be done whilst taking the trails through the woodland at the riding centre. There are routes for all different abilities and with so much scenery to take in this really is a great experience.
