The area is well recognised for its clear skies and is one of the 12 best stargazing sites in the world, and the first Dark Sky Park in the UK. On your doorstep is the Red Kite Feeding Station where the red kites are fed daily at 2pm, it really is a joy to watch. Why not take a short drive into the bustling market town of Castle Douglas, where you will find a unique shopping experience and many restaurants, cafés and takeaway food outlets. Beach 13 miles.
