Locally there is much to see and do. Coats Observatory is just along the street and is open to the public. Paisley has a great Museum, Art Gallery, Paisley Abbey - which is a stunning building - and there is a good shopping centre. You are close to all local amenities, at the bottom of the hill is a selection of shops, bar and restaurants. The local train station is only a short walk away providing access to explore into Glasgow or further afield without having to drive. Bus links are also good and the airport is only 3 miles away. Glasgow has fantastic shopping areas and Buchanan Street is a must to visit. There are numerous museums all worth seeing - Kelvingrove, Burrell, House of Art Lovers, Mitchell Library - to name but a few. From Brough Hall you can explore further afield. Perhaps north to the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park where you can enjoy spectacular scenery, walking, cycling or perhaps climbing Ben Lomond to "bag a Munro"! To the south into Ayrshire, is Robert Burns country and from here you could take a day trip to the Isle of Bute or Arran. Alternatively head east into Stirlingshire and visit the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle.
